Interested in volunteering for Engineering week (E-week)? Here is one opportunity at local high school in Huntington Beach. Though they currently do not have an E-week, the STEM teacher is hoping that the IE presentation will stir up interests for next year.  We encourage all IE’s to part of any Engineering/Science initiatives when possible. If interested, here are some 50 min time frame that anyone can do at a nearby school — a presentation/ game/ Q&A with the students.
For next week, here are the time blocks for the volunteers:
Period 1 (840-Â 9:30)
Period 3 (9:37- 10:27)
Period 2Â (9-Â 9:50)Â Â and
Period 4Â (10:12 – 11:02)
For Presentations, here is a sample line up (these are subject to change):
Part 1 — (10 min) Short video clip – about Industrial Engineering – http://youtu.be/3K3-stVK0lM (shared by Ted M.)
Part 2 — (20 min) Manufacturing Game/ other variety too i.e., 5S Numbers game (from Ted M.); Learning Curve game (from Gregory B., IIE-Puget Sound Chapter)
Music in the background during the game – “A Race for Space†— http://www.npr.org/2015/02/15/385549238/first-listen-public-service-broadcasting-the-race-for-space

Let’s invest some time for our future engineers, now or in the near future! We still got the rest of 2015. If interested in attending this Engineering week volunteer stint, email me at email@example.com, and I will see if I can add you to the roster for Tuesday.
Let us know in the comment section if there are E-week events that you are attending or if you are interested in joining us in our next volunteer event.
